The Church was planted in 1978, at the time of Ven. P.N Ukachukwu (Now Late Ven.) was the Superintendent of St. John’s Parish Fegge. The need to conduct Church Service at Lafiaji Primary School Fegge for the children living around the area was conceived by the Anglican Praying Association now known as Anglican Children’s Ministry Leaders, with Mr. A.C Njoku now Rev. as the Leader.
The Church Service increased to accommodate Adult worshipers gradually; Rev. Canon Ndubuisi in 19th February 1995 celebrated the first Holy Communion and catechism with 272 communicants and 18 infants baptized.
In October 1995, the then Bishop on the Niger and Dean of Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, His Grace Most Rev. Dr. J.A Onyemelukwe gave the Church a name by divine permission ST. FAITH ANGLICAN CHURCH FEGGE ONITSHA.
On 6th March 1997, the Church received its first Church Teacher, Mr. Rowland Ijeoma Obi (now Rev.). He handed over to Mr. Christian Okechukwu Igwemadu (now Rev.) in 21st September 1999. The first residence priest was Rev. Canon Dr. Paul O.J. Enwonwu took over the leadership of the Church on January 2001 with Mr. Stephen Ukachukwu (now Rev.) later Mr. Demian Abonyi, handing over to Rev. Timothy C. Okoye in 2005, who succeeded by Rev. Obiora Uzochukwu in 2007 with Mr. Matthew Awogu as the Church Teacher
The Church worships in the School compound until 2004 when Rev. Canon Dr. Paul J.O Enwonwu and the church members secured 2 buildings at No 10 Bishop Shanahan Street from Sir & Lady A.A Nwandu. The new Church building was started in 2005 by Rev. T.C Okoye and we are believing God for its completion and dedication on 1st October 2008.
The Church received its parish statue and was inaugurated as a parish on 3rd June 2006 by the Bishop on the Niger, His Lordship Rt. Rev. Ken Sandy Edozie Okeke & Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okeke (Nneobioma). The Church is alive and active to Gods own Glory. Amen.
